Workshop: Restoration in the Hauraki Gulf
18 Feb 2013

In recent times, ecological restoration activity on the islands and coastline of the Hauraki Gulf has increased dramatically, through innovative partnerships among community-led groups, local and national government entities, iwi, and others. These initiatives are having a profound effect on the biodiversity of the Gulf and its economic and environmental values. In support of these initiatives, much research, monitoring and other science has also been occurring. Although there is some cross-Gulf communication already on these issues, we think there is still a need for broader discussions. Therefore the Centre for Biodiversity and Biosecurity organised this workshop to foster cross-Gulf knowledge and collaboration.
