The 2015 New Zealand Ecological Society conference has just finished in Christchurch.

At the conference, Associate Professor Jacqueline Beggs, ex head of the Joint Graduate School, was awarded the Te Tohu Taiao Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the study and application of ecological science.

In addition, Josie Galbraith, a Joint Graduate School PhD candidate, won "Outstanding publication on New Zealand Ecology" for her paper, "Supplementary feeding restructures urban bird communities", published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America.
